ASFYT-1: Bones, Joints & Common Injuries (Thursday Track)
- 2/21/2013 — 5/09/2013
- Meets Thursdays from 2:15-5:15pm
OVERVIEW OF THE PROGRAM
Anatomy Studies for Yoga Teachers (ASFYT) was created to provide an opportunity for yoga teachers and other movement professionals to acquire a strong foundation in musculoskeletal anatomy, injury awareness/prevention and the anatomy of yoga asana. While the program is oriented toward yoga teachers, we warmly welcome sincere yoga students and other movement professionals who have a desire to learn more about the subjects that we offer. No prior background in anatomy or yoga is required to enroll.
The full program is 108 contact hours, and consists of the following sequence of three courses (which should be completed in order as each course serves as a prerequisite for the next):
- ASFYT-1: Bones, Joints & Common Injuries (36 hours)
- ASFYT-2: Muscles & Their Actions (36 hours)
- ASFYT-3: Anatomy of Yoga Asana (36 hours)
The Thursday 2:15-5:15pm Track meets at the Zenyasa Yoga & Wellness Studio in NYC (www.zenyasastudio.com).
